Because of Jesus Christ (Video)
Hello dear sisters and brothers,
It is so exciting to see individuals, and families experiencing the blessings of Temple and Family History work in their lives. More and more of you are adding memories of loved ones to FamilySearch or submitting names of loved ones for temple ordinances. Temple and Family History committees are helping us learn more. Ward leaders are planning fun and instructional activities. And the church is developing innovative ways we can be involved that are simpler and take only minutes a day.
We do not have to do it all…but we can all do SOMETHING.
We can all be part of this great work of the latter days. Thank you to all of you who have shared sacred experiences with us about how you are feeling and seeing the Lord work in your lives.
Since the days of Adam, the Lord’s pattern for teaching His children has not changed. Prophets receive His word, then teach and invite us to follow. This weekend, we will hear from the General Leaders of the church, including our prophet and President, Russell M. Nelson.
There has never been a time when the teachings of Jesus Christ have been more accessible. And there has never been a time when His cleansing and healing powers were more needed. It is not a coincidence that we have God’s words literally at our fingertips as they “fill” the earth (Habakkuk 2:14)
I hope each of us will cheerfully make time to listen, learn… and then act on the changes inspired by His Spirit in us. May we use this special conference weekend to prepare for the day prophesied by Abinadi…
“The time shall come when all shall see the salvation of the Lord; when every nation, kindred, tongue, and people shall see eye to eye and shall confess before God that his judgments are just.
Behold I say unto you, that whosoever has heard the words of the prophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord—I say unto you, that all those who have hearkened unto their words, and believed that the Lord would redeem his people, and have looked forward to that day for a remission of their sins, I say unto you, that these are his seed, or they are the heirs of the kingdom of God.” (Mosiah 16:1, 15:11)
May it be so with us…
Love,
President Gardner
