Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Household Goods Exchange this Friday/Saturday!
Please don’t forget about this wonderful opportunity to serve with and for our neighbors.
The Household Goods Exchange starts Saturday at 9 am, and will end as soon as all of the items are gone, or 10 am.
Please bring donations Friday from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm, or Saturday morning at 8:30 am.
We can always use your help with sorting at the Stake Bowery at the same time as donations are accepted.
Congratulations to our graduates!
This is a wonderful time of year when we recognize and congratulate graduates from all levels of school. In particular, today, I’d like to recognize the young women and young men who are graduating from Seminary this year.

Talking Faith
Every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 3 pm in the stake center Relief Society room there is a group discussion specifically for youth called “Talking Faith”. Hosted by Julie and Ron Henricksen, this discussion time is meant to help youth explore and ask questions related to church doctrine, teachings, and practices. We encourage all youth in the stake to attend and invite friends.
The Old Testament Tabernacle Experience
Beginning on Tuesday, June 27 through Sunday, July 16, a full-scale replica of the Old Testament Tabernacle will be in our community for public tours (1510 Parliament Ave). This unique activity is great for two main reasons…1) It involves our youth…and 2) it’s a fun activity with friends.
Invite Friends to a Public Tour
We encourage everyone to take advantage of this amazing experience. Invite friends and neighbors of any age to come and see this unique replica. Tickets are NOT required for tours. Please check the website www.tabernacleutah.com for times/dates the tabernacle is open. The tabernacle tours will be hosted by youth volunteers from several different stakes each evening. It will be open for public tours any day between June 27 - July 16.
Youth Involvement
This week and next week, youth leaders in the wards and stake will be working to register youth and young single adults to participate. Here are important dates to remember…
On Wednesday, June 21, participating youth and young single adults of our stake will meet at our stake center to receive training on our part in hosting the public tours of the Old Testament Tabernacle.
On Sunday, June 25, at 7 pm all Taylorsville youth, including those participating, will gather for a special Rising Generation Devotional with Bryce Dunford (U of U Institute) and Elder David H. Huntsman (Area Seventy).
On Wednesday, June 28 participating youth and young single adults from the Taylorsville Stake will be the designated tour hosts for the Old Testament Tabernacle from 1 pm to 9 pm.
We need at least 50 youth and young single adults to fulfill our hosting assignment on Wednesday, June 28. The shift assignments last 2 hours each. We hope parents and youth will make plans to participate in this unique opportunity. If you have specific questions, contact:

Daily Discipleship… and Vacations
Summer and vacations can play havoc with established routines and patterns. That’s kind of the point… 🙂
But, with a bit of planning and focus we can preserve healthy daily discipleship habits… even during summer. This can be especially important for children and youth. Here are a few simple, fun ways to integrate patterns of gospel living into vacation plans.
Plan to attend church services while on vacation
Look for ways to include the temple in vacation plans
Use leisure time to serve others (www.justserve.org)
Plan summer family history activities
Read a new gospel-oriented book
Choose an activity from the Gospel Kids app
Memorize all the verses to your favorite hymn or scripture
Sing Primary songs while traveling in the car
The list goes on and on, but you get the idea. As we focus our lives around the Savior, the Holy Ghost will help us find creative and fun ways to reinforce gospel principles …even during vacations.
Have a great summer!
I love you all.
President Gardner
